What our links actually do

Most product links here open a Amazon search-results page for a requirement — for example “2 person 3 season dome tent” — rather than a single fixed product. We do that on purpose: you see what is actually in stock today, at today's price, across a range of options, instead of a listing that may have been discontinued since we wrote the page.

How recommendations are made

• We start from what you actually need for the activity, not from what pays the most.
• Product entries describe a requirement archetype (“a rechargeable headlamp with these traits”), not a sponsored placement.
• Commission does not decide the order things appear or what we tell you to skip.
• Where we have not tested something ourselves, we say so — we do not invent ratings, review scores or test results.
